- कम से कम आधा इंच मोटी गुलाब की कलम लगनी चाहिए, जिसमे छोटे छोटे कल्ले निकले हों।
- अगर आपने अपने गुलाब की ताजी कलम काटी है, तो उसे लगाने से पहले 1 घंटा पानी में डालकर रखें।
- अगर गुलाब की कलम काटे हुए 2 से 3 घंटे हो गए हैं, तो उसे लगाने से पहले 10 से 12 घंटो के लिए पानी में डालकर के रखें।
- गुलाब की कलम लगाने वाली मिट्टी में सूखा गोबर मिला लेना चाहिए और जिस गमले में लगाए उसकी तली में छोटा छेद कर देना चाहिए।
- गुलाब की कलम का जो हिस्सा आप मिट्टी में लगाए उसे आधा इंच छील लें।
- गुलाब की कलम को मिट्टी में 3 इंच तक दबा देना चाहिए।
- मिट्टी में पानी डालने के बाद ही गुलाब की कलम लगाएं।
- मिट्टी में कलम लगाने के बाद उसे झिल्ली से ढक दें और 2 दिन तक पानी ना डालें। पानी की मात्रा ज्यादा होने से इसकी जड़े सड़ने लगती हैं।
- आपने जिस गमले में गुलाब की कलम लगायी है, उसे ज्यादातर छाया वाली जगह पर ही रखें।
- आप गमले में थोड़ा सा कोयला पीस के डाल दीजिये, इससे कलम के ऊपरी हिस्से काले नहीं होंगे।
